Our Team

The Lives Lived Well (LLW) Research Group is based at The University of Queensland. We conduct clinical research on the assessment, understanding and treatment of primary and comorbid alcohol and other drug (AOD) use in young people. Our research agenda is underpinned by a formal research partnership with LLW, the largest AOD treatment service provider in Queensland. We are also part of the Centre for Youth Substance Use Research (CYSAR), the only nationally funded youth-focused AOD research centre in Australia.
The group is led by Prof Leanne Hides, a National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Senior Research Fellow, who holds the LLW Chair in Alcohol, Drugs and Mental Health. Prof Hides is a senior clinical psychologist with almost 20 years of clinical and research experience in the treatment of primary and comorbid substance use disorders in young people.
Prof Hides is joined by a team of post-doctoral research fellows, postgraduate researchers, research assistants and students, all of whom are dedicated to advancing knowledge and providing support for young people with AOD-related problems.
